Happy 8th Birthday, Jake!!
He wanted a pirate cake. At first I was a little concerned that a pirate cake might be too much for my limited cake making skills. But it turned out alright thanks to ideas from the Internet. What a great resource. It was surprisingly easy and fun to do.
Spoiled all day by his dad. They even went to lunch together. Jake obviously couldn't see out of his right eye so all the pictures we took of him ended up with his head tilted up like this trying to see out with that right eye. It was so funny to watch him. Poor thing.
He got a waterproof watch from his dad that he was really excited about.

Cub Scout Initiation
Jake received a cub scout initiation and it left a BIG mark. A big black and blue mark that is. There was a trampoline and about 10 boys on it. Need I saw more.
Oh yeah, Katie had that same look a year ago when she feel down the fireman's pole. Although hers came with a trip to the ER. She had a small crack in her skull above her eye and a concussion. Happy to say she make a full recovery.

Swimming Lessons
She even goes off the diving board. No fear.
On the other hand, it took a whole lot of courage for this guy (our big D) to jump off. He did end up jumping off and in. What a milestone.

No, Not again!!!
"What is it, Jake?"
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
The neighbor was mowing the lawn and ran over this snake twice, but yet it survived. Her son put it in the garbage can and brought it to Jake and told him he could keep it because his grandmother was afraid of snakes.
Jake was so excited. After all he was so heartbroken over the ball python dying. This is a bull snake and this time I say no, no, NO!!!
But after discussing it with dad. OK, you can keep it to feed it one mouse...and then it has to go!
Nature took care of the problem while Jake was in school. (Sydney, the wind blew our way also) and knocked over this nice home Jake made for him. The lid came off and now that 2 foot snake is somewhere in the yard. What to do?

Sleeping like a baby
I wanted to share this book with you. I have been reading it since Natalie was six weeks old and I LOVE IT! I wish I had it with my other three.Natalie was born with her days and nights mixed up. She was up in the night at least every 2 hours and she slept all day for the first 6 weeks.
This book has taught me a lot about babies and children's sleep needs and why sleep is so important and how to help them get all the sleep they need.
I am so grateful now that at 3 1/2 months Natalie is sleeping through the night. She is setting a pattern of going to bed around 6:30pm and she sleeps until after 7am. (Her best night was sleeping from 5pm to 7am, at two months. Although, I didn't get any sleep that night because I kept waking up to make sure she was still alive). She is never up for more than 2 hours at a time during the day and she is all smiles.

Father and Sons Camp out
Mike, Jake, Dallas and Grandpa Hill headed out Friday evening to the father and sons camp out.
And when the boys are away, the girls play. Katie, Natalie and I got some yummy treats for our evening watching
'Barbie's Swan Princess.' And Katie and I had a sleepover in my bed. The next morning we went shoppin'. Katie makes sure she is ready with her cell phone and sunglasses. We got some cute shoes and a cotton candy ice cream cone. YUMMY

Surprise, SURPRISE! I rolled over today!!!
Yep, this little girl surprised her mom when I found her on her back. I put her on her tummy on a blanket while I was getting ready. When I looked down at her a few minutes later she was on her back. I had to take a double take and tried to figure out how that happened. She is only 3 months and she isn't that wiggly. I was still a little suspicious until she did it again later in the afternoon while Mike and I were watching.
Jake rolled over at 4 months, but I worked with him. Dallas was 20 pounds at 4 months and really couldn't move until after 5 months. Katie rolled over around 6 months.

2nd Grade FIELD TRIP
We went to a park in Boise that has a fish farm and other nature habitats.
The Bed of Nails
We also went to the Discovery center which is a lot of fun because you get to touch everything. It's a lot of science. Jake really enjoyed the bed of nails.

CASSIE CONDIE HILL
And that is...
I do at least one load of laundry every day. It's amazing how good I've become at getting stains out. If you have trouble getting blood, vomit, the other end, mud (even a week old), food let me know I have some good tips. Although I still haven't mastered the Sharpie marker. I have learned how to get Sharpie off the computer screen though. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
